![]() One thing I can say about Boonie and the Goons was they were very much influenced by the Italian mafia, and I have no doubts that Boonie worked with wise guys at many points in time. After this October 25 th and Oct 26 th articles about this murder the Goons vanished from the media. The 1972 article featured a brutal killing of a TVL and the shooting of a police officer that tried to intervene. The Goon Squad Gangsters appeared in the Chicago Tribune in 1969, 19. The Goon Squad Gangsters were not large in size, but they were often ruthless when it came to dealing with enemies. In the late 60s and early 70s the Goons conflicted heavily with Traveling Vice Lords. I speculate the Goons came from the ABLA projects, but I am not certain. This is a big part of New Breed history that is lost, and Davis passed away in 2009 at age 71 so he can no longer speak for himself on how the Goons on the west side were put together and why and exactly where. I hope to one day, learn more about him and the history of the original Goon Squads from the west side of Chicago but for now we must start the story in 1969 and go from there unfortunately. There is so much more to Boonie Black’s life that isn’t published out there. He was probably a gangster since his youth. I highly doubt this man just started a gang life at age 31 and went with it. George Davis was born in the year 1938 making him already in his 30s by the time the Goons appeared in the newspaper. 40 years back from 2009 takes us to 1969 which is the exact year that the Goons first ended up in the newspaper therefore, I am going to declare that the Goon Squad Gangsters were founded in 1969. According to As IS Magazine in one of their 2009 issues they said he spent 40 years gangbanging. At some point in time George Davis assembled his own crew of killers called the “Goon Squad Gangsters.” I’m not sure when the Goon Squad Gangsters were created but I know it existed by 1969, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it all started in the 1950s. Davis was large sized, so he was ideal for the job of cracking skulls for money. Davis was what is known as a “Goon” which tends to refer to someone that will inflict pain or kill for money. I don’t know all the details but what I can say is at some point in time George “Boonie Black” Davis was a gangster that lived on the west side and was from the west side and that was said to be a hustler, and even a killer for hire. This story can be told in a few parts that later converge. ![]() ![]() Royal Family 1972-?
